Holtz Children's Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the southeast United States, where UHealth - University of Miami Health System physicians treat children from throughout Florida and the Caribbean. Holtz Children's is known worldwide for its care of critically ill newborns in its neonatal intensive care unit, which is one of the largest in the United States and boasts some of the best medical outcomes. In collaboration with the Miami Transplant Institute, Holtz Children's is one of only three centers in the country that specializes in pediatric multi-organ transplants. It is home to one of only three state-accredited comprehensive children's kidney failure centers and one of the largest pediatric kidney transplant programs in the world. The Children's Heart Center at Holtz Children's is the only comprehensive children's heart program in South Florida. In partnership with the University of Miami, Holtz Children's also trains the most pediatric physicians of any medical center in the southeastern United States.
Summary
The Magnet Program Director is responsible for leading and managing the organization's Magnet Recognition Program, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The role involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives to achieve and maintain Magnet status, promoting excellence in nursing practice and patient care. This role also oversees nursing education team.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implement strategies to achieve and sustain Magnet Recognition.Â
- Leads and coordinates all aspects of the Magnet application, documentation, and site visit processes.Â
- Collaborates with senior leadership, nursing management, and interdisciplinary teams to align Magnet principles with organizational goals.Â
- Promotes and facilitates continuous quality improvement initiatives within the nursing department.Â
- Serves as the primary liaison between the organization and the ANCC. Ensures ongoing compliance with ANCC Magnet standards and requirements.Â
- Develops and executes a comprehensive nursing education strategy aligned with the organization's goals.Â
- Provides leadership and direction to the nursing education team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Â
- Ensures all educational programs comply with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.Â
Experience
- Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.Â
- Leadership experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.Â
- Master's degree or Doctor's degree preferred.
Credentials
- Valid Florida RN license is required.
