Leavenworth VAMC is seeking to hire a Nursing Assistant to serve in our Domiciliary.



Duties

This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until January 29, 2025. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be February 15, 2024, with subsequent cut-off dates on the 1st of each month. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled.

Applicant Expiration: Applicants will remain active for 3 months after their initial application is received and/or updated. After that time, you must update your application through your USAJobs account if you would like to be made active again for possible consideration during the open period.

The nursing assistant works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and is responsible for the nursing care provided to the patients assigned to him/her. The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting veterans with activities of daily living
  • Bathing and assisting in personal cleanliness and hygiene
  • Assist with physical movement, such as walking or repositioning in bed
  • Making beds, changing linens when soiled, straightening for comfort
  • Maintain environment that is safe and clean
  • Assist with laundry
  • Record ability to perform activities of daily living
  • Record vital signs
  • Assist in admission, transfer or discharge processes
  • Any other duty as assigned
Work Schedule: Possible hours of duty are 7:30am - 4:00pm, 3:30pm - 12:00am, or 11:45pm - 7:45am. May be required to work other shifts, be on call, work weekends and/or holidays.
