SCOPE OF WORK:The Youth Caseworker will provide services to immigrant children and youth. The Caseworker will coordinate services to ensure that the children are living in a safe environment and integrating well into their new community. The Caseworker will be responsible for connecting them to appropriate services and resources. This position will report to the Safety & Protection Program Manager. Travel within Miami-Dade County.RESPONSIBILITIES:   Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Providing children and families with individualized orientation, support, referral, and advocacy services by assessing and evaluating clientâs distinct needs.
  • Ensuring that clients are empowered with the tools and resources needed to meet their established goals and objectives.
  • Coordinating referrals and service planning in relevant areas.
  • Continually assessing ongoing changes in behavior and general conditions that could impact the safety of a participant.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with community services providers in relevant areas.
  • Serving as point person for stakeholders in each familyâs case, including legal providers.
  • Participating in regular case management and staffing meetings.
  • Reporting regularly on the progress of cases and the program to service partners.
  • Maintaining accurate records and consistently ensuring the confidentiality of information relevant to children and their cases.
  • Submitting required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Providing crisis intervention when necessary, including involving Child Protective Services.
  • Supervising program intern(s) and/or volunteer(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:Education: Minimum education of a bachelorâs degree in social work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other Behavioral science equivalent.Work Experience:
  • Experience working with children, family reunification/ preservation, and or foster care/child welfare. 
  • Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member.
  • Self- starter with excellent problem- solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to travel independently throughout relevant region.  Ability to work during non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Valid driverâs license, reliable access to an insured vehicle.
Working Environment: 
  • A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and âfieldâ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.  Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits.
