JOB SUMMARY
Apply essential actuarial skills and principles to support a variety of assignments within the Research and
Development department. Responsible for routine projects and may assist in complex projects.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce, analyze, and communicate actuarial research in collaboration with R&D personnel and
    other business partners.
  • Implement actuarial research to advance business goals.
  • Provide independent peer review of actuarial research.
  • Maintain steady progress through actuarial exams according to the goals established with
    management.
  • Travel as needed to engage in actuarial training.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

  • Demonstrate basic actuarial, analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department
    staff members.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
List Degree Requirement, Years' Experience, and Certifications
Education and/or Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or any other major with
    significant quantitative course work with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Must have passed or earned transferable credit for two or more of the following actuarial exams;
    1, 2 3F, S/MAS-1, C/MAS-2, OC1 AND OC2, 5, or 6.
  • 0-2 years of business, actuarial or R&D technical experience required.
  • Must have a commitment to pursuing and successfully completing CAS actuarial exams.
  • Master of Business administration (MBA) or equivalent would be beneficial. CPCU designation is
    desired.
