The GMM group fills a wide variety of roles, from demand planning, logistics and sourcing, to receiving, storing, dispensing, and shipping material across a vast operational network. By providing material management, supply chain, and logistics expertise to over 20 customers and 90 sites worldwide, GMM ensures on-time delivery of materials across Pfizer's global clinical supply chain while maintaining rigorous GMP quality standards. GMM strives to be a patient centric, agile, and proactive group, enabling "Breakthroughs that change patients' lives".

As a DPS GMM Material Operations Lead, the successful candidate will support the technical operations, GMP facilities, and projects within all Groton Inventory Management operational areas. This position will offer the opportunity to collaborate with outside partner lines while supporting the operational, technical, and developmental aspects of Inventory Management. The successful candidate will be required to follow GMP standards, while assuring compliance with Pfizer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all applicable worldwide regulations and guidelines (e.g. FDA, TSA, MHRA, DEA).

The GMM Material Operations Lead will be expected to balance daily technical job functions while supporting all the operational areas within the GMM network to included but not limited to: Material handling (receiving, sampling, dispensing, warehouse, transport, shipping), Electronic systems (inventory, document management, planning, scheduling, etc.), Support of Controlled Substances, SOP creation and updates, Operational investigations. You will also be expected to participate in facility improvements, CI projects, procedural updates, and digital initiatives, at a professional level. When directed by the operations managers, responsibility for coordinating and overseeing the daily work of operations team members will be expected.

Qualifications

  • You hold a BA/BS degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.

  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a material operations role, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to complete repetitive physical activity

  • Ability to work with and around power industrial vehicles

  • Ability to drive multiple vehicles, including Pfizer trucks

  • Must have a valid Connecticut driver's license

  • Ability to physically move materials (i.e. drums, boxes, crates, modules)

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently

  • Must be able to gown up as required, to include specific PPE (i.e. respirators, full gear, safety glasses, daily uniform, etc.)

  • Must be able to perform in a fast-paced dynamic workplace

  • Must be able to perform mathematical calculations and data analysis

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Role requires that you occasionally work outside normal working hours, answer after hour alarms and occasionally travel to other Pfizer sites.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
