Project Manager (On site)
Cognizant is looking a Project Manager to run point on software delivery across feature team and technical teams and work to implement the release train framework across these group. This will entail driving a strong understanding of organizational level release train methodologies, intake & capacity planning, dependency management, cross functional platform facilitation, etc.
This role is pivotal in driving the development of high-quality software solutions ensuring project timelines are met and maintaining the highest standards of project quality. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in both technical skills and project management methodologies to enhance our project delivery capabilities.
Job Location: Riverwoods, IL

Role responsibilities:
- Lead the development team in the design development coding testing and debugging of applications.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and maintain high standards of software quality within the team.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to plan project timelines scope and cost.
- Implement and maintain project management methodologies such as Agile and Scrum to optimize project delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments for projects and devise mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Oversee the project budgeting and invoicing processes ensuring financial transparency and efficiency.
- Utilize tools like MS Project and Agile PLM for effective project management and reporting.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the team promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of leading development projects.
- Strong proficiency in project management methodologies including Agile and Scrum is required.
- Experience in project time management quality management scope management risk management cost and budget management is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Project Agile PLM and other project management tools is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are crucial for this role.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to lead by example are key to success in this position.
- A commitment to continuous learning and improvement is expected.
