Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team. Works within a Specialty Care team, in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of the treatment team ensuring continuity of patient care in all settings. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.Key Position Details:

Number of Practice Locations: 3 clinics, 1 hospital, 2 ASCs
Practice locations: Allina Health Cambridge, Allina Health Brooklyn Park, Allina Health Blaine, Cambridge Medical Center, Brooklyn Park & Vadnais Hts ASC
Expected call rotation: 1 weekend per month with approx 7 weekdays per month.
Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care for patients
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined.
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program required
- 2 to 5 years' experience post Physician Assistant training strongly preferred.
- Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
- ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
- Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required
- Drug Enforcement Administration upon hire required
