Job Description

The Construction Estimator will:

Review bid documents from clients - work scopes, sketches, overlays, or full project plans - to fully understand required scope of workPrior to developing an estimate/bid proposal, coordinate with the Construction Project Manager assigned to the project to review bid documents and agree on a plan of action.Perform complete and accurate quantity take-offs from project plans.Prepare bid packages/detailed work scopes by trade for distribution to subcontractors to clearly define work scope for the major trades involved.Request material quotes from vendors supplying materials/services.Maintain accurate files for vendor quotes and subcontractor bids.Obtain multiple quotes for trade & material services, review all quotes in detail to confirm required scope is included.Negotiate with service providers for better rates.Attend/lead bid walks with clients and subcontractors.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Construction Estimator will have:

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction Technology, or related field preferred3+ years of experience as a Construction EstimatorProject experience in one of the core markets; healthcare, life science, academic, and/or commercialAbility to plan, organize, and coordinate multiple projectsStrong computer/software skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills
