SUMMARY
The Jr Developer provides support to the FDA Safety Intake Program. This position is responsible for developing, unit testing and documenting any COTS modifications and custom-developed applications in a Federal Government infrastructure. The Jr Developer will work with Business Analysts and Project Owners on building code from requirements and Test Engineers on the development and execution of test scripts. The position is responsible for following established software development practices, documenting work, and reviewing user documentation as needed. This position supports a number of deployments in a year. As each release is deployed to three environments, multiple releases are in process at the same time.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
Experience in Core Java, J2EE, Java Server Pages, Servlets, Enterprise Java Beans, Spring and other frameworks, HTML, XML / XSLT, SOAP, CSS2, DHTML, UML and JavaScript required.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides initial research and evaluates new technologies. Prepares design specifications and presents analysis for recommendations and approvals.
Participates in the design of software tools and subsystems to support reuse and domain analysis.
Prepares required documentation and conducts research that optimizes existing subsystems.
Identifies issues, requirements, and opportunities for improvement.
Assists in code review and complex applications.
Develops code and unit testing scripts.
Writes test and use cases and drives quality assurance through System and User Acceptance Testing.
Implements critical software or system changes. Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field of study and a minimum of four (4) years' relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education / experience / training.
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Experience creating and managing web pages and web applications using HTML5, XML, Java Script, jQuery, JSON, .Net Framework, AJAX, CSS, VB.Net, Microsoft MVC Framework, Microsoft Web Forms technologies, and C#/ using FDA tools like SharePoint and Visual Studio.
Experience working with MS SQL in normalizing and creating databases and schemas/models, writing SQL queries and stored procedures.
Experience creating data-bound web pages using MS SQL, LINQ-to-SQL, the .NET Framework, and the Entity Framework.
Experience working with the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) or MS Dynamics for building service-oriented applications.
Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Protractor, etc.
Experience with CI/CD and related applications such as Jenkins, SonarQube, etc.
Experience with the creation of Angular projects.
Experience with the overall application and systems security toolsets.
Experience with unit testing web applications or websites.
Experience deploying web applications or websites on IIS and Apache Servers.
Experience working with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
