Job Title: Mechanical or Structural Nuclear Engineer

Job Description

Our Client is seeking a qualified individual with previous experience in mechanical, civil and structural design engineering. This individual will work independently and perform activities associated with the Standard Design Process (SDP). The individual will support capital modification implementation and turnover, including outage or emergent modifications. The role involves managing engineering vendor activities, including developing specifications, statements of work, bid evaluations, owner acceptance reviews, and coordinating engineering vendors onsite. Knowledge of regulatory, industry standards and codes, and the 10 CFR 50.59 process is essential. Experience with drafting, GT Strudel, welding, rigging, seismic qualification, pipe supports, and pipe stress analysis is preferred but not required.

This job is responsible for preparing Design Change Packages in accordance with the Standard Design Change process, utilized unilaterally across the US Nuclear fleet. Additional engineering activities include supporting project implementation, developing test plans, performing Applicability Determinations, and conducting 50.59 Screening. Employees in this role apply broad nuclear plant engineering experience and principles to make decisions and recommendations. Individuals work independently and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development.
