The Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation (ISN) leads the U.S. effort to prevent the spread of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons, as well as related materials and delivery systems.
This serves as public notice for the use of an Agency-specific Direct Hire Authority. Applicants will be forwarded to the selecting official for consideration. We may select from this announcement or any other source to fill one or more vacancies.
Duties
- Serves as a working-level point of contact for issue areas pertinent to the assigned portfolio, maintaining currency on legislative and policy developments affecting the USG’s stance and reactions.
- Monitors developing political situations or issues related to conventional arms threat reduction measures as reported or identified in the various notifications received.
- Analyzes political, economic, and other reporting from a wide variety of sources that include U.S. missions, Non Governmental Organizations, and foreign media in regions of interest to understand the current situation and its implications.
- Provides informational consultations and orientations to colleagues and management officials in the Department and the interagency arena. Ensures effective communication of US policy developments and guidance to U.S. mission.
