Summary

The Senior Technology Strategist position is located in the Technology Engagement Division, Global Engagement Center (GEC), under the Office of the Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs.

This serves as public notice for the use of an Agency-specific Direct Hire Authority. Applicants will be forwarded to the selecting official for consideration. We may select from this announcement or any other source to fill one or more vacancies.



Duties
  • Provides authoritative policy guidance and expert advice to GEC and departmental senior leadership and external partners on efforts to advance GEC’s mission using cutting edge technology and solutions.
  • Provides strategic direction; drives change through technology to enhance operations and products; implements organizational changes; and, identifies ways to adapt, improve, and transfer operations and services to achieve greater effectiveness.
  • Serves as a senior advisor to the GEC's Front Office principals on technology and related issues related to the GEC’s activities. Provides expert guidance and leads the strategic planning and development of GEC’s programs and activities.
  • Exercises authority on behalf of the GEC's senior leadership and the broader State Department on technology matters related to GEC’s mission and its partnerships in support of the advancement of U.S. national security and foreign policy goals.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and developments related to programmatic design and implementation; identifies best practices that enhance GEC or departmental planning efforts; and, leads their implementation.
