HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for guiding a group of warehouse staff to complete daily warehousing duties and specific projects as assigned. The Warehouse Lead directs team activities with focus on Safety, Quality, Customer Experience, and Productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, and other material handling activities.
  • Oversee and participate in packaging of cased goods, service & install kits, small parts & goods orders.
  • Operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, walkie-riders, pallet jacks, dollies, etc.
  • Serve as a lead to an assigned warehouse team/shift; train and provide direction and guidance to assigned staff; prioritize work assignments.
  • Ensure team operates safely and follows all required EHS requirements including wearing PPE, safe forklift operation, spill management, incident management, etc.
  • Ensure all quality requirements are met including proper package labelling, package cleanliness and organization, product integrity, picking/shipping correct product, etc.
  • Prepare, maintain and submit paperwork related to all warehouse operations; prepare paperwork for return for credits and verify receipt of returned for credits merchandise.
  • Make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency.
  • Tracks daily/weekly/monthly performance metrics in partnership with the warehouse supervisor to drive improvement.
  • Engage in coaching conversations with employees who are not meeting performance expectations.
  • As needed, oversee cycle counting activities in partnership with the inventory control specialist.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Fill in for employees as needed.
  • Foster a focused, cooperative atmosphere within the team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience and/or Training:

  • 3+ years of warehouse operations experience
  • 2+ years of operations leadership experience, leading a team of 5+
  • Forklift certified
  • Knowledge of quality, 5-S, six sigma, and/or lean systems

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently asked to speak, hear, stand, sit, and/or use both hands to handle, or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend, distinguish colors or use repetitive movement for certain tasks. The employee must be able to lift and carry 25 to 60 lbs. occasionally and lift more than 60lbs. intermittently. PPE will be used intermittently while working with certain hazardous materials. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a warehouse setting. Noise level is moderate to loud. Although the warehouse is climate controlled, the employee will need to be able to adapt to different climate changes. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position
