The Manager of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) is responsible for coordinating Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) services across the multi-facility integrated healthcare system. Oversees all activities related to Community Health System's development, implementation, maintenance, adherence, and compliance with Federal and State Laws related to documentation and Healthcare Information Privacy and Practices. Ensures effective communication, staff development, budget support, fiscal control, interdepartmental relations, and personnel management.  
Qualifications:

Education

  • One of the following is required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited medical school
    • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
    • Medical Degree from a foreign medical school with successful completion of the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 Exams
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Health Care Management, Organizational or related field preferred

 

Experience

  • 5 years of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting with demonstrated expertise in Med/Surg, OB, Trauma, ICU, and/or CCU required
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement and/or Coding required
  • Prior lead/supervisor experience preferred

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California (if education is in Nursing) required
  • ECFMG - Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (if education is from a foreign medical school) required
  • One of the following is required
    • CCDS - Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist
    • CDIP - Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner
  • CCS - Certified Coding Specialist preferred
