Responsibilities:

•Under supervision applies functional specifications and uses engineering tools to design digital mixed-signal, and embedded firmware design for product changes and new development.

•Uses software tools and applications to perform routine analysis to predict the performance of electronic circuits and identifies design improvements by evaluating results.

•Contributes to reliability analysis such as risk assessments and Failure Mode Effects Analysis by compiling and examining data.

•Identifies the testing requirement at a system level with an emphasis on complying with test standards and Halliburton's Health, Safety, and Environment procedures.

•Contributes to Halliburton's Intellectual Property portfolio by preparing Invention Disclosures and recognizing ideas that have Intellectual Property potential without disclosing confidential information.

•Coordinates with project leads to produce project deliverables by assessing input requirements and applying functional specifications.

•Develops relationships through excellent communication skills and acts as a key resource to provide innovative solutions.

•May participate in professional societies.

Skills:

•Knowledge of digital and embedded circuit and mixed-signal design fundamentals

•Design and analysis of signal conditioning circuits (filtering, gain)

•Signal Integrity analysis

•Subject matter expert in embedded firmware design w/o RTOS

•Design and analysis of data acquisition systems including A/D, D/A, high-speed Microcontrollers, Digital Signal Processors (DSP), FPGA, I/O communications (SPORT, CAN, SPI, I2C, RS485, RS232, Ethernet, etc.), volatile and non-volatile memory.

•Design and development of embedded firmware with DSP, ARM, Microcontrollers and FPGA.
Qualifications:

•The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in electrical/electronic engineering or similar discipline.

•4 years of successful industrial experience in a similar environment.

Candidates having qualification that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from the Senior R&D Electrical Engineer up to the Principal Electrical Engineer.
