The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina serves three dynamic and rapidly growing counties in central North Carolina: Lee, Chatham, and Harnett. Each county offers unique characteristics, a strong sense of community, and an array of opportunities for personal and professional growth. In 2023 we served over 1,100 members in four clubs across the three counties.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of success in fundraising for non-profit organizations who will lead the overall planning and operation of the organization while providing leadership, direction, and support to the Board of Directors. While the title of CEO is used within the Boys & Girls Clubs network, it is comparable to the more traditional title of Executive Director often found in similar non-profit organizations.
The Boys & Girls Clubs' mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The CEO will be responsible for bringing this mission to life in the community, ensuring that the kids and teens in our care achieve great futures. This role includes providing a safe and fun space, creating an engaging Club Experience, and managing caring professionals to guide the youth along the way. As a powerful testament to our impact, 54% of Club alumni have said that the Club saved their life.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Guide, support, and serve the Board of Directors in developing policies, procedures, budgets, and programs that fulfill the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs. Provide leadership to Club staff by developing administrative and operational standards to achieve organizational goals.
- Fundraising & Development: Act as the facilitator of fundraising efforts, directing and participating in public relations and fundraising activities with a significant emphasis on securing funding from various sources, including donors, grants, corporate sponsors, and government programs. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising strategies and adjust as necessary to meet the organization's financial needs.
- Program Management: Monitor and approve the organization's program services to ensure they align with the mission and goals of the Boys & Girls Clubs. Oversee the development and implementation of high-quality programs and services that meet the needs of the youth we serve.
- Community & Public Relations: Promote Boys & Girls Club services to individuals, other service organizations, and the local community. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, building and maintaining relationships with community leaders, stakeholders, and partners to enhance the visibility and impact of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
- Board Relations: Provide professional leadership to the Board of Directors to ensure the development of an effective and motivated board. This includes identification, recruitment, training, and involvement of members in meeting the organization's goals. Report directly to the Board of Directors.
- Financial Management: Oversee the financial health of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation. Ensure the organization's financial operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and that the organization complies with membership and other requirements of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and other regulatory agencies.
- Staff Management: Oversee staffing activities of the organization, including recruiting, training, and evaluation of both paid and volunteer staff. Ensure effective supervision of professionals and volunteers across all units of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Proven leadership skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to speak effectively and persuasively to groups and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a Board of Directors, staff, community groups, and other related agencies.
- Experience in supervising professionals and volunteers, particularly in organizations with multiple subunits.
- Strong fundraising skills with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts, grants, and sponsorships for non-profit organizations.
Compensation:The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000. We offer a competitive benefits package commensurate with experience.
How to Apply:Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter detailing their qualifications and interest in the position on this website. Applications will be accepted until September 12, 2024.
