JOB DETAILS
Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Reports To: Team Head
Division: AH Development
Department: Development Execution
 

JOB PURPOSE
Senior System Engineer will be responsible for proficiently executing development projects to create functioning prototypes that will eventually become production ATV/SxS vehicles, researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop or guide others to develop complex hardware and software integrated systems for ATV/SxS prototype vehicles that achieve concept targets, function performance requirements, and manufacturing requisites with without supervision. Lead (mentor, guide, review work) large technical group of cross functional engineers to define subsystem level requirements for specific control systems that will result in setting the final specifications of global ATV & SxS new models and mass production vehicles. Breakdown complicated work, delegate work appropriately and maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required.

  • Set or guide others to set complex system & subsystem verification, and vehicle validations of specification targets through application of engineering principles, simulations, and physical testing with minimal supervision. Create/maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required.

  • Establish or lead to establishing cost targets for responsible parts that contribute to achievement of the vehicle development targets and achieve the cost targets through optimizing difficult part/system designs and offsetting any spec changes after target fix through implementation of additional cost reduction ideas.

  • Create and manage schedule of individual work or other’s work to ensure deadlines are met, coordinate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources with minimal supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate in project meetings, discussions, and development events.

  • Generate advanced ideas that contribute to building strategies that support the evolution of new technologies. Lead and reinforce maturation of ideas to prepare for development applications with without supervision.

  • Prioritize, lead and address market quality themes. Utilize problem-solving methods to analyse root causes. Develop and implement C/M specs as necessary with without supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical or equivalent in related field

Minimum Experience

  • 8+ years of Engineering experience desired, preferably in Powersports or Automotive field

  • Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into clear objectives
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Competence in FTA, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-ups and applications
  • Strong analytical ability in complex problem-solving
  • Understanding of design, release, development, and validation processes
  • Competence in data acquisition software/hardware and laboratory skills/techniques
  • Knowledge of system reliability, safety, monitoring, and diagnostic technologies and processes
  • In-depth knowledge of Systems Engineering methods and tools

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Travel: Average of 1-3 times monthly, including possible overseas travel
  • Physical: Primarily desk work, with occasional lab and/or test vehicle involvement; frequent keyboarding and some physical exertion
  • Hazards: Typical office & shop hazards, with exposure to explosives/flammables, pressurized equipment, toxic chemicals, and moving parts
  • Overtime: Expected based on project demands/responsibilities
