Purpose of this Job:

This job is responsible for supervising all production activities in the manufacturing areas to meet company policies, procedures and productivity goals

Principle Duties/Essential Functions:

- Manage and facilitate key metrics through development and implementation of effective countermeasures
- Hire, coach, train and develop team members
- Create an atmosphere that enhances a safe and employee friendly team based environment

Other Tasks/Responsibilities:

- Implement and standardize improvement activities using Kaizan, PDCA, TPM, 5S methods and hoshin deployment
- Complete employee evaluations/reviews and maintain all required technical and administrative records
- Analyze areas to embrace continuous improvements in safety, quality and productivity
- Control Work in Progress (WIP) inventory levels
- Monitor daily costs ensuring compliance to budget
- Collaborate with all support groups (Production Control, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, etc.) to ensure cross functional activities are maintained to meet manufacturing objectives
- Conduct daily communications meeting with management team to discuss results
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the Safety & Health Program and Environmental Management System by: taking accountability for the effectiveness of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs/systems; establish department objectives; provide necessary resources to meet objectives; communicate the importance of the program by developing and maintaining accountability for the system; and promoting continual improvement
- Responsible for awareness and compliance with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Contributing to the effectiveness of EHS polices and procedures by communicating and reporting any unsafe conditions and/or non-compliances.

Requirements

Education:

- Engineering, Manufacturing or related degree preferred, or 3 year’s equivalent work experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

- 3 years of experience supervising a fast-paced manufacturing facility
- Ability to manage a staff of 25 to 75 people
- Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, SPC Control Charts and be able to perform shop math
- Must be able to effectively communicate clearly, in verbal and written English, to both employees and all levels of management as well as external customers (as needed)
- Knowledge in production processes and or assembly processes are preferred
- Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts
- Working Knowledge for Problem Solving Techniques and Root Cause Analysis
- Knowledge of Total Quality Management System
- Knowledge of Environmental Management System
- Must have strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Physical Demands:

- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit at a computer for long periods

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

- Employee must regularly wear safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection
- Other PPE may be required based on specific projects

Work Environment/Hours:

- Primary work area is located in a Manufacturing setting
- Hours based on shift worked. Overtime required when supporting production needs
