Field Service Engineer (MUST HAVE DoD SECRET)
LOCATION: Vandenberg AFB, CA
SUMMARY: The Counter Unmanned Aerial System (CUAS) Field Service Engineer (FSE) will support the installation, Training, maintenance, inspection, adjustments, reconfiguration, and the introduction of new or advanced security technology to include testing. Also, the Systems Field Engineer will perform all related IT support required to host upgraded security systems. This position is located on-site, and the FSE must hold a current DoD Secret Security Clearance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Work with the Project Manager to ensure that all site work progresses as scheduled and contract specifications are met
- Install and maintain all CUAS security systems and associated IT networks, systems and support equipment
- Work closely with the site's Force Protection and Security Forces personnel on all security system issues
- Provide technical expertise and maintain all security systems at designated sites
- Perform security site surveys as required by Force Protection staff
- Write detailed trip reports to include sensor recommendations and sensor placement derived from site surveys
- Assist the System Administrator located at his/her assigned site(s)
- Provide initial and refresher training on equipment for personnel assigned to administer and/or operate the system. The FSE shall train personnel on operational, field-level, or depot maintenance, as well as higher headquarters procedures. The FSE shall help local Force Protection Commanders develop security system subject matter experts within their command.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or Computer Science. An additional 4-years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
- Possesses technical experience relating to physical or electronic security system projects, video or alarm systems
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to support multiple projects, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, works well with a team, interacts with multiple levels of management, and can manage customer and contractor relationships
- Experience with military electronics, logistics and maintenance practices desired
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Skill in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
- Working knowledge of MS Office desktop software applications (MSWord, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CLEARANCE:
- Must possess and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

- Must be willing to work outdoors and indoors
