Job Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a skilled, self-driven individual to join the Daytona Beach Business & Budget Services Department as a Financial Coordinator. This person will serve as financial support to the college faculty/administration and college Financial Analyst at the Daytona Beach campus.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Providing financial support for the colleges sponsored projects, research grants, endowments, gifts, and general funds
  • Processing and assisting with financial transactions in Workday including but not limited to: travel expenditures, purchase requisitions and capital transactions
  • Assists the college Financial Analysts with financial tasks needed by the colleges
  • Provide end of month reporting to college deans and departments
  • Assist faculty principal investigators with grant/contract reporting
  • Processes budget transfers on behalf of college deans and financial analysts
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Office of Sponsored Research and the Budget Office as needed to quickly solve problems
  • Advise on policy and procedures - consult with Financial Analyst and/or Chief Business Officer for resolution
  • Requesting journal entries as needed
  • Ensuring properdocumentation/approvalsare completed with supporting documentation
  • Support university and college initiatives and/or special projects as requested; and
  • Serving as a backup for other business processes and acting as delegate or proxy as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics
  • 1-3 years, higher education experience preferred

  • Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines
  • Excellent time management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Works well with and supports other people in the accomplishment of business goals

The Financial Coordinator must conduct him/herself with the highest integrity and in a professional, positive, respectful, service-oriented manner at all times while serving in this position.
