 HCC’s Theater Program seeks an energetic candidate to work collaboratively in support of programming in the Leslie Philips Theater.   Our ideal candidate will combine skills in technical theater with enthusiasm for working with a diverse range of students, faculty and staff.  This is a part-time, year-round position.  

Job Description: Assist the Theater Technical Director in the maintenance and operation of all equipment in FPA Building performance and production spaces to include control booth, scene and costume shops, dressing rooms and acting lab.

Assist the Theater Technical Director in the enforcement of facilities and operational policies.Assist the Theater Technical Director for all event.Assist with theatre production responsibilities ranging from costume and prop coordination to scenic construction, light hang and focus, sound installation, load-in and strike of scenery, and restoration of lighting equipment.Support Theater faculty with demonstrating safe operation of Theater and Scene Shop equipment for students in THE 124.1 & THE 124.2 (Stagecraft Construction and Technology); THE 125.1 & THE 125.2 (Stagecraft: Introduction to design for Theater); and THE 141, THE 142, THE 243, THE 244 (Theater Practicums). 

REQUIRED:   

Strong communication skills; ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body; and experience in the following aspects of technical theater:

Set construction

Costume and prop coordination

Audio visual set up and production

Rigging and operating lights

Running sound board

Ability to climb ladders to work on sound/lighting equipment

Salary: $17.00/hour

Hours: 18.5 hours/week
