JOB DESCRIPTION

The Charles Bronfman Institute for Personalized Medicine (CBIPM) will make landmark discoveries on the nature of human disease by conducting cohort studies at-scale in the clinics, emergency rooms, inpatient units, and databases of the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS). Partnering with other MSHS stakeholders, CBIPM will then rapidly translate these discoveries into experimental interventions and new standards of care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Clinical Research Coordinator I will participate in clinical research activities related to the All of Us study, a NIH initiative to enroll one million people across the U.S. to help build one of the most diverse health databases in history. The Clinical Research Coordinator I will be responsible for obtaining informed consent, collecting and processing biospecimens, performing some clinical assessments, and collecting, maintaining, and organizing study information. They will also assist in preparing documents (for eg, Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office) and performing other study related activities as needed.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience
  • Background in clinical research or closely related field

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Passion for patient care and clinical research

Primary responsibilities include
  • Obtain informed consent and educate participants regarding study requirements.

  • Collect and record study data and input all information into a database.

  • Collect, process, deliver and ship clinical specimens as required by the protocol.

  • Assist in activities related to clinical research studies including but not limited to: answering phone calls, screening participants for eligibility, scheduling/coordinating study visits, administering lifestyle questionnaires.

  • Assist in IRB/GCO applications as needed.

  • Maintain source documents and subject files in accordance with hospital procedures. Ensure accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews.

  • Perform other related duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field

  • 1-2 years clinical research experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, communicate clearly, and accomplish goals

  • Pristine attention to detail and ability to manage time appropriately, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective interpersonal skills, able to establish good working relationships and collaborate with networks of employees at all levels, able to foster cooperation in others

  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred but not required)
