The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of a Research Coordinator I. A bilingual (English/Spanish), dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual is needed to join a research team at the University of Southern California to support a new research study. The study is interested in examining the effects of stress on substance use behaviors and mental health among Hispanic/Latinx adolescents and young adults. Employment involves (1) recruiting 12-20 year old participants from across the greater Los Angeles area from school visits, community organizations, and community events; (2) scheduling data collection assessments with participants including dropping off and picking up data collection materials with participants; (3) instructing participants on data collection procedures; (4) monitoring participant progress during data collection assessments; and (5) providing project support to the research study and the study staff personnel, students, and faculty investigators.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities and a demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends are needed. Prior experience in a research environment or working in the Hispanic/Latinx community is preferred.

The hourly rate range for this position is $30.62 – $31.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Administrative or research experience. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
