Experience with VHA policy and regulations, the Joint Commission (TJC), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines for Community Living Centers, VA review processes such as System of Ongoing Assessment and Review Strategy (SOARS), and Office of Inspector General Reviews (OIG) and other agencies such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Colorado Board of Registered Nurses (CO BRN) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
Responsible for overall leadership for nursing care practice for all OR and Perioperative services, Cath lab, GI clinic, Dialysis, Specialty Clinics and Infusion
Responsible for oversight of all FTE nursing staff, ensuring safe high quality nursing care is delivered to all Interventional patients in all ECHCS locations
Ensures the nursing staff provides competent nursing care based on established nursing standards of practice
Senior level nursing administrator and has clinical and administrative oversight responsibility for the full range of interventional services in a highly complex tertiary facility
Responsible for recruitment, hiring and supervision of nursing staff assigned to these units and these quality management programs, fiscal management and safety compliance
Works effectively within an interdisciplinary framework and has excellent communication skills with staff at all levels of the VA and with families and veterans
Works with the Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Service and other Chief Nurses to maintain a high level of nursing practice for the Health Care System.
Collaboration and collegial relationships are expected with all other clinical and administrative service representatives to ensure high quality comprehensive care delivery with an emphasis of safe environment for all residents and staff
