Role Overview:
As a Grant Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing grant-related financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires expertise in Abila or MIP software to effectively handle grant accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage grant accounting functions including tracking expenditures, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with grant agreements and regulations.
- Utilize Abila or MIP software for financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciling accounts.
- Monitor grant budgets and expenditures, providing insights and recommendations for financial adjustments as needed.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams to ensure proper documentation and audit readiness.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and budgets as required.
- Proven experience as a Grant Accountant or similar role, with hands-on experience in Abila or MIP accounting software.
- Strong understanding of grant accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
