In this role, you will work closely with the Controller to analyze and process accounts payable and project-related transactions in accordance with internal control procedures and company policies.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and enter material invoices, subcontracts, subcontractor invoices and accounts receivable invoices timely and accurately.
  • Review and ensure compliance with internal controls (proper approvals, documentation, account coding, payment terms, sales, and use tax, etc.)
  • Maintains and tracks contracts, invoices, payments, lien release documents, and insurance policy information.
  • Reconcile GL accounts and bank statements.
  • Forecasting and budgeting expense vs cost
  • Help with quarterly sales tax returns, financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with payroll entries and accruals.
  • Maintain fixed asset files and schedules and inventory reconciliation.
  • Record A/R, A/P, 1099-Misc reporting
  • Communicate with vendors and research vendor statements.
  • Assist project accountants with problem invoices.
  • Run check disbursements.
  • Make bank deposits.
  • Set up new vendors.
  • Close jobs
  • Verify documentation on employee expense reports.
  • Enter cash receipts daily and prepare cash reports.
  • Prepare journal entries for all cash transactions.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Control petty cash
  • Back up to other A/P positions as needed.
  • Process check disbursements and EFT disbursements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum two years accounting experience
  • Prior Construction/Warehouse accounting experience preferred.
  • General understanding GAAP
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in an office/warehouse setting.
  • Comfortable with accounting systems (Including but not limited to Intempo and CMiC)
  • Microsoft Excel experience
