Your team & role:

The AI/ML Engineering team at Prudential Financial is looking for a highly skilled Senior DevOps/MLOps Engineer to join a diverse team dedicated to providing best-in-class data services to our customers, stakeholders, and partners.

As a part of our CDO organization, you will work with our Data Science and BUs to define solutions for institutionalizing data-driven decision-making in a cost-effective and scalable manner. In this role, you will drive the design and implementation of a robust, scalable pipeline for machine learning model training, deployment, and inference. The ideal candidate is a technical leader with a proven track record in DevOps, possessing deep expertise in both software engineering and machine learning principles.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge DevOps infrastructure for machine learning model development and deployment.
  • Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate and optimize the entire ML lifecycle, from model experimentation to production deployment.
  • Mentor and guide a team of DevOps/MLOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists to streamline model training, evaluation, and deployment processes, ensuring seamless integration with production environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot machine learning systems in production, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Drive the development and adoption of DevOps best practices, tools, and platforms to enhance model experimentation, deployment, and management.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and address potential issues.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and technologies in the DevOps and MLOps space, evaluating and incorporating new solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and strategies for scaling DevOps capabilities across the organization.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring:

  • 5 to 7+ years of proven experience as a Senior DevOps Lead within a large-scale enterprise
  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields Master’s degree preferred
  • Exposure and thought leadership with DevOps & emerging industry trends
  • A great understanding of DevOps with proven and practical experience
  • Experience with modern source code management and software repository systems (Git, Bitbucket) 
  • Ability to lead independently with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts, and perspectives to the benefit of the organization.    
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges  
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills 

Significant experience and/or deep expertise with several of the following:  

  • In-depth experience building solutions using public clouds such as GCP, AWS & Azure
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Security best practices including DevSecOps 
  • Test/Quality capabilities & methodologies (functional & nonfunctional) and associated tooling including quality automation 
  • Application Programming Interfaces (API): Consumption & Development 
  • Frameworks: Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ 
  • Programming Languages: Python, Shell/Power scripting, Groovy, Modern languages

The salary range for this role is from $135,100.00 to $201,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
