Overview

Houston Marriott Westchase is looking for a Full-Time AM and PM Concierge Lounge Attendant for our VIP guest services M-Club.

Position Summary: As the MClub attendant, you are the ambassador of the hotel and the Marriott Brand, providing excellent customer service by offering food and beverage refreshments as well as special assistance to our reward member guest, providing them information about local area attractions, ensuring they have a wonderful and memorable experience that exceeds expectations.

Scheduling: This is an AM Full-time position that requires open availability to work, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs. The AM shifts are from 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM and work schedules change weekly to support operational requirements.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks:

- Greet customers immediately as they enter with a friendly and sincere welcome.
- Promptly respond to guest inquiries including being pro-active and show initiative anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Responsible for the set up and maintaining of the breakfast buffet
- Replenish supplies; Keeping the drinks, snacks, fruit, and other offerings always stocked.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the MClub; Clearing tables when guests leave.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
- Follow proper standards and etiquette for a VIP concierge lounge with the utmost professionalism, respect and confidentiality.
- Follow all sanitary rules and food safety regulations
- Complete ongoing required training and development to maximize potential.
- Follow company best practices and Marriott Brand Standards.
- This list is not all inclusive, additional job functions will be shared during interviews.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. Due to the seasonal nature and business hours of a hotel, candidates must realize it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift as business demands. All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements.

Qualifications

- Ability to speak, hear, read, and comprehend instructions, both written and oral, in fluent English with ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and respond with a sense of urgency when necessary.
- Moves about, and back and forth between, the MClub lounge and kitchen line, for duration of 8-hour shift.
- Extend arms; frequent reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, and stooping and moving up to 50 lbs. to perform essential job functions.
- Repeatedly ascend/descend stairs moving carts, food trays and glassware up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to observe and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and company guidelines for food handling, cross-contamination protocols, and sanitation.
- Knowledge of key customer service behaviors.
- Enjoy working with others - this position not only interfaces daily with hotel guest and team members in the restaurant, bar, and kitchen, but also, members in the front office, guest relations, concierge lounge, hotel outlets, and many different hotel associates.
- Able to work other shift times on occasion, and open to be cross trained in other guest services positions, is a plus.

Experience

- Customer service, hospitality, or server experience in a full-service dining restaurant, preferably in a full-service hotel or in fine dining.

Licenses or Certificates

- Ability to provide or obtain the Texas Food Safety Handler Certificate.
- Ability to provide or obtain the Texas TABC Certification License.

Grooming/Uniforms

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific appearance and uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
