POP S&E is the exclusive food & beverage provider for Auburn University athletics. Football is the largest component with premium hospitality seating areas, including 80 suites, The Nelson Club, The Beckwith Club, Scholarship Donor Areas, North and South Club, Tiger Walk Club and Broadway Club. Proof also provides premium food & beverage services to other sporting and special events throughout the campus.
We are searching for an experienced culinary leader to join our growing Sports & Entertainment team as the Director of Culinary. The ideal candidate has experience in large scale catering operations, has proven experience in building client relationships, and has an impeccable eye for food service details.Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the client relationship with the university and create and nourish new relationships within the community.
  • Execution of culinary operations including planning, ordering, menu creation, and oversight of all game day and event production.
  • Work closely with the sales, operations, and staffing teams to ensure all aspects of service are discussed and understood by all
  • Create financial reporting, to include declining balance, invoice tracking and labor vs. sales reports
  • Develop, implement, and communicate creative menu items that adhere to the Proof of the Pudding standard
  • Execution of game days, events and food service while maintaining the highest level of food quality and presentation
    • Always keeping an eye on the details of service and BEO accuracy
  • Manage financial goals and food cost of multiple coinciding events while maintaining and tracking the culinary budget
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen/food service areas
  • Create and maintain the overall moral of the kitchen and culinary team
  • Schedule staff and food production in accordance with the demands of business by working closely with the staffing and sales departments to ensure communication and budgets are kept
  • Responsible for training, accountability, and scheduling of the culinary staff
    • Working with the staffing team to ensure schedules for BOH are concurrent with scheduled events
  • Develop comprehensive prep sheets, food distribution plans, and efficient culinary event logistics
  • In slower seasons, this position may be asked to travel and support other Proof of the Pudding venues
Performs other duties as needed
Required Qualifications:
  • A Culinary Arts Degree or related field
  • 5+ years in a lead culinary role, experience in large scale catering or stadiums is necessary.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, internal and external email communications, and purchasing procedures
  • Must have impeccable integrity for the business, the community and the Proof of the Pudding Team.
  • Possess the necessary qualities of self- motivation, desire to learn, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, demanding, collaborative environment
  • Possess the necessary interpersonal skills and demeanor for maintaining a safe, equitable and inclusive work environment
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to Auburn, AL.

  • Capable of producing a consistent product in high volume for multiple service times per day

Work Environment This role consists of in-office work and traveling throughout the venue and campus. Office work consists of long periods of sitting at a desk, interdepartmental meetings, screen and phone usage, and communicating orally and through writing often. This position can work indoors, outdoors, and in temporary structured tents/buildings.Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving throughout a kitchen and venue, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 30 lbs.
