Overview

A barback, supports bartenders and ensures the efficient functioning of the bar area. They assist with various tasks to maintain cleanliness, stock supplies, and facilitate the workflow, enabling bartenders to focus on serving customers promptly and efficiently.

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $20.00.

Responsibilities

  • Restock the bar with liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other supplies to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Assist with the preparation of garnishes, fruit trays, and other ingredients needed for cocktails and drinks.
  •  Maintain cleanliness in the bar area by wiping counters, cleaning spills, and disposing of empty bottles and trash.
  •  Collect used glassware, wash and polish it, and return it to the appropriate storage areas.
  •  Ensure that bar equipment, such as blenders, shakers, and glassware, is clean and in good working condition.
  • Assist bartenders during busy periods by fetching ingredients, refilling ice bins, and preparing drink orders.
  •  Provide friendly and attentive service to customers, including delivering drinks and clearing empty glasses from tables and counters.
  •  Keep track of inventory levels and notify bartenders or managers when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Monitor the bar area for any issues or disturbances and report them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all bar policies and procedures, including responsible alcohol service guidelines and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  •  Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects, such as cases of liquor and bags of ice.
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work closely with bartenders and other staff members.
  •  Capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Meticulous attention to detail in stocking supplies, cleaning, and preparing ingredients.
  •  Dedication to providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Clear communication skills to interact effectively with bartenders, customers, and other team members.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to anticipate the needs of bartenders and the bar operation.
  •  Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as bar schedules dictate.
  • Basic knowledge of bar operations, drink recipes, and equipment is beneficial but not always required; willingness to learn on the job is essential.
  • Must meet legal drinking age requirements in the jurisdiction of employment.
