Job Purpose

This position will also be working closely with the controller to do account analysis and budget documentation for the upcoming  budget process.  We will also use the intern to help with accounts payable data entry and end of year processing.  This position will work with our team to put together documentation for the yearend audit for both external and internal auditors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include checking and verifying records, preparing invoices and vouchers for payment. Types, files, posts ledger and general journal entries. Uses office automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, and works under the direct supervision of the Controller.
This is a paid, temporary position that requires a minimum commitment of one semester and approximately 15 hours per week.

Qualifications

Understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles, Personal Computer, 10 key, Microsoft Office, and e-mail systems
Language Skills:  College level oral and written English skills.  
Mathematical Skills:  College level algebra and financial calculus
Good organizational and analytical skills
Education and/or Experience: Currently actively enrolled in an accounting/finance field of study at an accredited university or college.
