Description:  As a sales associate for the State College Spikes, associates will gain vital sales experience in various in-person and virtual forms and a comprehensive look at the game-day operations of a minor league baseball team from the business side. This is a part-time position that is meant to be flexible for students who are also taking classes.
Responsibilities:  
  • Aggressive sales of State College Spikes ticket inventory, including but not limited to: Season Tickets, Mini Plans, Flex Books, Group Ticket Packages, Picnics, and Birthday/Pizza Parties by utilizing cold calling, face-to-face appointments, creative lead development, and upselling of current customers.
  • Support Ticket Sales Department including lead generation, direct mail coordination, e-marketing campaigns, in-person community outreach, and general department strategic organization.
  • Providing customer service to guests at our Box Office during home games and other Spikes related activates through individual ticket sales.
  • Assisting in the front office of the ballpark by answering phones and maintaining an accurate record of calls and communications between the Spikes and guests/businesses.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements:
  • A strong outgoing personality
  • Highly organized with excellent administrative and time management skills
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to interact with internal and external clients and all levels within the organization
  • Committed to ensuring superior customer service and supporting the team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to handle cash
  • Associates should be able to perform physically demanding aspects of the job and lift boxes and objects of at least 15 pounds in weight

Schedule:  Mid May - Early September.  Start and end dates TBD.  The internship will conclude after the final game of the season on September 3, 2024.  The weekly schedule varies based on the Spikes home schedule, but will range between 20-40 hours per week.
Compensation:  $500 monthly stipend
