Job Details
The applicant will be a member of the St Louis University Department of Surgery, and faculty of the St. Louis University School of Medicine.Excellent financial package Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.Guaranteed base salary and bonuses availablePosition is sign-on bonus eligibleThe thoracic surgery program oversees the SSM-St Louis Lung Cancer Screening program across 6 hospitals in our region (>6000 screenings performed/year), and has excellent nursing and NP support, including an intake navigation program.Within the SSM Health system, we provide inpatient care at Saint Louis University Hospital and St. Mary's - Richmond Heights, which includes the supervision and training of general surgery residents, and the education of medical students at both locations.

Minimum Qualifications
Completion of an ACGME Thoracic Surgery Fellowship ProgramCandidates must be board-certified or board-eligibleAbility to obtain Missouri licenseMinimally invasive or robotic surgery skills in general thoracic surgery

Facility Description

SLUCare's more than 600 faculty, other academic medical professionals, and staff are now a dedicated academic physician division within SSM Health - St. Louis and continue their work as researchers and educators. They collaborate with SSM Health Medical Group's more than 600 community-based providers to deliver care at more than 50 physician office locations, as well as through comprehensive virtual and digital health services.

Saint Louis University Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital are part of the St. Louis University School of Medicine/SLUCare Physician Group. In addition to these two facilities, SSM Health includes 5 community hospitals in the St. Louis area.

Overall, SSM Health operates 23 hospitals in 4 states. SLUCare Physician Group and SSM Health have partnered for decades to provide exceptional medical services to patients. Saint Louis University Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospitals are level 1 Trauma centers, and offer the full scope of services that one would expect in an urban academic program.
