Overview

Coastal Waste & Recycling is privately-owned, locally-operated solid waste disposal and recycling company. We are experiencing explosive growth and with growth comes opportunity. We are currently adding Diesel Technicians to our team to support the growth.

Responsibilities

The Technician B will work with other technicians to complete repairs on trucks by completing routine maintenance requirements and correcting vehicle deficiencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work with a team to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Perform repairs, preventive maintenance services.
  • Repair air brake systems on vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to determine failure modes.
  • Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles and parts usage.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OSHA Standards

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • NA

Work Environment and Hours:

  • Shifts may vary Monday-Saturday
  • 40+ hours a week
  • Maintenance shop or work sites

  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Extended periods of standing/walking

Travel Required:

  • Periodically for training

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will be ASE certified, have experience working on diesel engines, and will share the company values of safety, integrity, and customer service. Experience in the waste industry helpful. Morning Shift.

Required Education and Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Experience:

  • Brake Certification
  • Medium/Heavy Truck Master ASE Certification
  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
