Job Title: Heavy Civil Project Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy civil construction, including roadway construction, grading, concrete work, and underground utilities. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Proficiency in HCSS software is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  2. Coordinate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
  3. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders regularly.
  4. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all project personnel.
  5. Manage project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and change orders.
  6. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with plans and specifications.
  7. Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project timelines, budgets, or quality.
  8. Foster a positive team environment and provide leadership and guidance to project team members.
  9. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
  10. Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  2. 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a proven track record of successful project management.
  3. Proficiency in HCSS software or similar construction management software preferred.
  4. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and communicate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  5. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Knowledge of construction industry best practices, techniques, and standards including DOT.
