We are looking for candidates available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Additionally, candidates must have flexibility and be available for 2 planning hours per week. Apply today

How You Will Make an Impact (Essential functions) 

Design and implement lesson plans and activities aligned with early learners curriculum guidelines.  Cultivate love for learning by incorporating hands-on experiences, storytelling, arts and crafts, and group activities.  Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming classroom that encourages social interaction and positive behavior.  Establish consistent rules and routines for structure and organization.  Observe and assess each child's developmental progress and provide individualized support to meet their unique needs.  Maintain open communication with parents and guardians and encourage their involvement in their child's learning journey.  Adhere to health and safety regulations and protocols to ensure the well-being of every child in care.  Participate in relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.  Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve the overall program.  Promote the YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.  Lead by example the Y’s mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.   Become an Ambassador of the Y’s work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.   Complete other duties as assigned.  

What You Bring to Power Your Purpose: 

A High School diploma or GED equivalent.   Previous experience working with young children in a classroom setting.  Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood teaching methodologies.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.  Ability to create a positive and nurturing learning environment for young children.  CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them).   You quickly learn from failure and value feedback in an effort to continuously improve.  You are a team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude, and you can work well with others.   You listen for understanding and meaning. You speak and write effectively.   You build good customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.  You leverage people’s differences as strengths.   You easily take on new opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency and a solutions-oriented mindset.

$15.00 - $22.00 per hour, DOE
