Through our wholly owned subsidiaries Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG), and NEXT Carbon Solutions, we are developing a 27 MTPA LNG export facility in South Texas along with one of the largest carbon capture and storage projects in North America. By combining emissions reduction associated with our carbon capture and storage project, responsibly sourced gas, and our pledge to use net-zero electricity, Rio Grande LNG is expected to produce a lower carbon intensive LNG for the world.

JOB SUMMARY

The Engineer, Mechanical (Static) is a senior member of the Asset Integrity and Mechanical engineering team and may be required to backfill the Sr. Engineer during periods of absence. This position will report to the Sr. Engineer, Asset Integrity, and Mechanical in the Operations Department, under the leadership of the Sr. Manager Facilities Engineering, Sr. Director of Engineering and Vice President of Operations. This role has no direct reports and peer level personnel will include other members of the engineering team across all facilities disciplines. This position will support long-term operations for the Rio Grande LNG facility located near Brownsville, Texas. The position will require work from Houston during early job phases before transitioning to Brownville, Texas prior to commissioning and startup.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support for the following equipment, systems, and processes: Equipment: Condensate and LNG Loading arms, ship gangway system, fire system equipment (e.g. monitors, deluge etc), heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping, manual valves, tanks, filters, HVAC, flares, restriction orifices, pressure safety valves, check valves Systems and Processes: Hose management, flange management, pressure equipment repair and fitness for service, welding and NDT, piping stress analysis, piping vibration management (including AIV/FIV) Provide mechanical engineering support for both day-to-day plant operations and long-term reliability and availability targets, including frontline response for mechanical issues and failures. Drive continuous improvement in fixed mechanical equipment (safety, cost, availability) through: Maintenance strategy optimization Root Cause Failure Analysis Bad actor analysis Management of Change Debottlenecking and efficiency optimization Define and implement QA/QC programs for mechanical equipment maintenance Provide Quality Control over high risk mechanical equipment maintenance activities Prepare turnaround scopes and review all turnaround and maintenance workpacks Ensure an MOC process is followed through the implementation of changes on mechanical equipment and packages. Develop and ensure adherence to all discipline specifications, standards, procedures, and guidelines. Provide integral interaction and support for other intercompany teams, such as Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Quality, Process Safety Management (PSM), and Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE). Willingness to travel, domestically & internationally, as needed (approximately 10-15%)

Minimum Requirements:

B.S. or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or, equivalent degree. 10+ years of static/fixed equipment mechanical engineering experience. 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in an LNG operating facility. Ability to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC). Ability to work collaboratively & foster a collaborative work environment. Strong oral & written communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to lead by example & deliver against targets. Ability to perform under pressure. Ability to challenge others in a constructive manner and negotiate with internal peers and other stakeholders to influence decisions and work processes. Excellent organization, planning and time management skills to ensure timely delivery of multiple work streams. Computer literate including proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Adaptability to manage changes in work environment in regards adhering to updated deadlines or unexpected delays.

Preferred Requirements:

Advanced skills in the following areas:

Troubleshooting and problem solving fixed mechanical equipment issues, including following equipment or facility trips and supporting the operations team to return equipment into service. Intermediate skills in the following areas: Application of LNG facility applicable industry standards, regulatory codes, and recommended practices Define and implement QA/QC programs for mechanical equipment. Piping vibration management Pressure equipment fitness for service Flange management Maintenance optimization for fixed mechanical equipment Root cause investigations LNG facility mechanical equipment, including loading arms, pressure equipment, valves, PSVs, hoses, flares, and fire systems. Basic / beginner skills in the following areas: Materials selection, welding, and NDT Pipe stress Process Safety Management (PSM) and operational risk management Management of Change (MOC) Managing interfaces and working closely with Project and Operations teams during detailed design, construction, commissioning, startup, and post-startup operations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands with or without reasonable accommodations

Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios. Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required. Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations. Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift. The incumbent is required to have fully mechanical motion and usage of all extremities. Physically able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and lift items weighing up to 20 lbs. without assistance. Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods. May be required to enter confined spaces. May be required to work at elevated heights and access elevated structures without assistance.
