Job Description

Duties: Perform reserving analyses, and produce management reports and statutory reporting in accordance with quarterly and annual timelines. Make reserving recommendations for assigned areas through the application of appropriate reserving methods and assumptions. Analyze existing tools and processes, modifying or creating new tools and improving processes as needed. Collaborate regularly with Pricing, Claims, Finance, and Underwriting teams to develop deep understanding of line of business trends and emerging claims. Support and take an active role in implementation of reserving software, reserving process design efforts, and deep dive review processes. Support group capital modeling efforts to help inform ceded reinsurance analysis and internal capital modeling. Support annual loss ratio planning process and regular forecasts. Stay up to date in functional area of expertise, on industry trends and developments, and assure knowledge transfer within the organization. Provide guidance to less experienced team members.

Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or related field of study, and4 years of actuarial experience in any job title/occupation/position with commercial lines reserving experience. Experience specified must include each of the following: 4 years of experience with actuarial loss modeling and insurance operations; 4 years of experience with Excel; 2 years of experience working in an insurance company or consulting firm; 2 years of experience with actuarial reserving analyses for insurance companies, projecting ultimate losses; 1 year of experience with Arius reserving software; and 1 year of experience with preparation, analysis, and documentation of statutory annual statements and Statements of Actuarial Opinion. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week, subject to change.

Salary: $152,610 to $154,500/year
