Perform all operations associated with outpatient pharmacy to include, evaluation of new prescriptions, proper strength and dosing, and appropriate patient instructions and medication quantity for course of therapy.
Regularly communicate with providers on any concerns regarding a prescription (allergy, cross-sensitivity, contraindications, dosing, etc.).
Package and label products and insures that they are properly handled, stored, and accounted for.
Supervise and direct the workflow of Pharmacy Technicians.
Provide monthly or as needed reports to Chief, Department of Pharmacy, on waiting times, workload, and staffing needs.
Evaluate work performance of directly-reporting subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Identify developmental and training needs of employees and other hospital personnel and provides or arranges for needed training.
