Duties
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions/failures and performs required adjustments/repairs using a variety of test equipment, such as tech, dwell, timing light, oscilloscopes, compression gauges, emission analyzers, engine and chassis dynamometers.
  • Installs, replaces or repairs items involving moderate complexity within the following systems: ignitions, charging, exhaust, brakes, air conditioning, front suspension, emission control, fuel, starting, and drive train assembly.
  • Adjusts settings, according to manufacturer's specifications for ignition point and timing, voltage regulator, points, gapping spark plugs, engine idle and carburetor air/fuel mixtures, etc.
  • Maintains tools and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions and isolates problems to defective parts or major assemblies and independently replaces those parts that can be replaced without complete tear down of major assemblies.
