Join us as Composite Mechanic, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Los Angeles (CA), US and Greater Los Angeles area (San Bernardino, Riverside, Lancaster, and East Ventura). Note this position is Unionized and requires joining the Union organization.

 

JOB DUTIES:

 

Responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, performing basic troubleshooting (use of tools that don’t require training), wheel machine operations, replacing rail components on rail equipment including machinery related to the work environment. May be required to act as Equipment Operator as position requirement. Duties as assigned by supervisors and managers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or warehouse work is a plus but not required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Ability to read and understand safety instructions, manuals, and directives.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

 

REASONING ABILITY:
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks accurately.
• Ability to solve basic problems and escalate issues to supervisors as necessary.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• The job may involve working in various environments such as construction sites, warehouses, or outdoor locations.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Situational and environmental awareness is required to ensure the safety of the employee and others.

 

Salary Rate:

$27.57/hour
