Mining Engineer Co-Op/Intern

A Mining Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to projects focused on improving mining conditions and economics.

September 3 to December 20, 2024

Full time Co-Op/Internship. 36-40 hrs a week on site.

What you'll do?

Day to day work assignments could include:
Assignments will involve learning all aspects of working at a site including Mine Planning, Mine Ventilation, Operations Optimization, Quality Control, Maintenance, Safety, Mapping and moreCommunicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, mine operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractorsParticipation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignmentAdhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What you'll need:
Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Geology or Mining, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.2.75 GPA or higherStudent in standing at the time of the co-op/internshipAbility to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is requiredPrevious internship or co-op experience is preferredReliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.Basic computer skills are requiredExperience working in a team environment is a mustFamiliarity with an industrial environment is highly desirableEffective verbal communication skills is a plusPhysical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
