Lead and oversee all aspects of inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities ensuring a seamless and efficient supply chain operation. Take charge of coordinating with third party logistics providers (3PLs), as well as working closely with the internal Hydro sales team, Metal Management and Commercial Operations staff. Primary focus will be on optimizing logistic processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of metal products, troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Education/Experience:- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of five years' experience to include warehousing, transportation and inventory management are required.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office with the ability to leverage Power Bi and SAP Analytics for data driven decision making and strategic insights
- Deep understanding of both warehouse and transportation management, with a strong grasp of best practices in supply chain management to drive operational excellence
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, allowing to propose solutions and process improvements
- Exceptional ability to multitask, respond to rapid changing conditions, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Exhibit excellent communication, team, and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
- Perform daily requirements such as SAP system updates, freight schedules, stock tracking, port/warehouse arrivals, and order management
- Develop and maintain a robust network of 3PLs, fostering strategic partnership and enhance overall supply chain capabilities
- Lead the tendering and negotiation of logistics contracts and service levels agreements in line with Hydro handling and shipping instructions
- Analyze and approve invoicing and cost allocation for all outbound orders and warehousing expenses, with a focus on refining and improving sot management process
- Manage inventory levels and oversee the execution of inventory control procedures and FIFO principles
- Review and respond to any claims or deduction related to order fulfillment, paperwork accuracy, on time delivery and damaged material with both vendors and customers
- Lead initiatives focused on process optimization, simplification and automation using tools like Power BI or SAP Analytics
