Our mission at V3 Sports is to elevate our community, and one of our passions is educating our community on how to swim. Every year, an unnecessary number of deaths occur due to drowning. V3 is continuing to develop aquatic programs that help people of all ages learn how to stay afloat in the water.
The V3 Center (Phase One) is almost ready to open its doors to our community We will provide aquatics and fitness offerings, on-site childcare and a new home for the Boys and Girls Club. Our goal is to begin the Phase Two expansion (adding a 50-meter pool, basketball courts, a track, and more) at the end of 2024 and complete it in 2027.
Wages and Benefits
$22.00 per hour; This position is not eligible for benefits except for accrual of Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave.
Schedule
This position works during normal business hours as well as some evenings and/or weekends. This is a part-time position working 6-25 hours per week.
A Typical Day in the Life...
A typical day as V3 Sports's Deck Supervisor provides an opportunity to oversee pool deck safety and programming flow through aiding in the evaluating and live coaching of Swim Guides. Responsibilities will include the following:
- Enforcing all pool rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean swimming environment.
- Preventing injuries, eliminating hazards, and activating Emergency Action Plans/rendering emergency care as necessary within the scope of your training.
- Managing traffic at pool entrances during peak use times.
- Communicating with participants and their guardians about their progress, areas for improvement, and achievements.
- Assisting in evaluating Swim Guide staff.
- Being knowledgeable with opening and closing procedures.
- Assisting in onboarding and training Swim Guide staff.
- Assisting in leading in-services, meetings, and other training courses as directed.
Who You Are
- You understand the importance of customer service and being professional.
- You demonstrate knowledge of and/or experience working with diverse groups of people of all socioeconomic conditions.
- You are skilled in conflict management.
- You have the ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the public and can use judgment in recognizing the scope of authority.
- You have the ability to travel to sites within a 15-mile radius of the office.
- Aquatics certifications are not required, but preferred.
- You are trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. If applicants do not already possess these certifications, training will be provided by V3 upon hiring.
- You have a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports' driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
