Your Opportunity

As an Associate Development Reader, you interpret staining patterns for various Immunohistochemistry (IHC), in-situ hybridization (ISH), and special stain markers for current and new Ventana products. You coordinate with pathology departments and development project teams to ensure appropriate scoring algorithms are applied and relevant characteristics, features, and information are captured surrounding case evaluations.You will follow company policies and procedures for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Design Control and others. Also, you are
  • Performing screening and/or qualification of tissues for use in testing; evaluates biomarker-stained tissue cases (IHC, ISH, and other probes) following various scoring algorithms.
  • Planing and executing assigned projects; utilizing a thorough technical and theoretical understanding of numerous techniques. Participates in efforts to define processes and identify technical challenges.
  • Assisting in the production of digital material (slide scans/images) for a variety of uses.
  • Discussing results of experiments within the department and project team; sharing knowledge and expertise with others; participate in cross functional technical team activities.
  • May participate as a slide reader in limited studies for assay development. Also, may evaluate slides during feasibility to guide decisions surrounding assay conditions.

Who you are
  • You hold a Bachelor's in Science and bring 6 years of relevant experience, and at least two years demonstrated slide reading proficiency required
  • You hold a Master's and bring 1 year of relevant experience in slide reading proficiency, required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought. Familiar with searching scientific literature.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pathological features / characteristics / phenotypes. Able to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Proficient with microscope use and operation.
    Comfortable with digital slide viewing / evaluation (Whole Slide Image familiarity).
  • Ability to apply advanced technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office, and use of email; skilled with use of word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation software applications.
