Job Summary:HCA s Forward Pathology Solutions is seeking a Pathologist, Board Certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology, for HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in beautiful Port Charlotte, Florida.

Qualified Candidates:

AP/CP certification or board eligibilityAt least three years of hospital-based experienceActive Florida Medical License or eligible to obtainComfortable with the full scope of AP and CP for community hospital practiceExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.Experience building collaborative relationships with hospital staff and referring physicians.Pathology Work Description:
Surgical volumes approximately 4,000 per yearCytology 1,000 per yearProcedures (frozen sections and rapid on site assessments) less than 10 per weekPeripheral smears approximately 5 per weekBlood bank reviews less than 1 per weekFawcett has approximately 250 beds with a variety of anatomic pathology specimens including breast, colorectal, thoracic, urologic and bone marrow specimens.The practice consists of two pathologists who also remotely cover the surgical and cytology volumes at HCA Florida Englewood hospital (100 beds with approximately 1,400 surgical specimens and 100 cytology specimens per year).About Forward Pathology Solutions (FPS):Employs over 170 board certified multispecialty pathologistsProvides professional services to over 70 HCA Healthcare hospitals and Integrated Regional LaboratoriesOur physician partners are a key component to our success and we work closely with them to achieve the most favorable patient outcomesAbout HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital:HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is a 253 bed, full-service acute care hospital serving Charlotte County and the surrounding areas since 1975Clinical specialties include 24-hour emergency care center, a comprehensive ACoS CoC accredited cancer programJoint Commission accredited Stroke Center of ExcellenceAccredited Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary InterventionJoint Commission certified Orthopedic and Spine CenterInpatient and Outpatient Surgery with Minimally Invasive Surgery OptionState-of-the-art cardiovascular surgery program
