The Opportunity

This position is onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. As an Associate Director, Procurement Business Excellence , you will  be in a highly visible role which requires strong Project Management fundamentals, Operational Excellence experience and sound understanding of business processes.  You'll be identifying cost-savings and increased profit-margin opportunities relative to systems, compliance, process improvements, supplier diversity and sourcing / purchasing. To achieve these goals, you'll be exercising authority in a leadership capacity for the benefit of the Company, stakeholders, and customers. Your scope includes the authority and responsibility to set strategies in conjunction with clients for key projects.  This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What Youâll Do

• Map current processes and improve them. Benchmark with other Abbott divisions or external benchmarks for reference.
• Set data governance for the team. Set up process to collect and process the data and provide actionable metrics and dashboard to leadership and end users.
• Provide leadership, technical assistance and/or project management of initiatives related to process improvement, systems, capital, sourcing, supplier diversity, and compliance.
• Establish and maintain relationships with subject matter experts, category managers, procurement directors, senior divisional clients, and procurement and engineering staff.
• Accountable for effectively managing timelines and ensuring the products and services delivered by Procurement meet / exceed expectations and the needs of the Business.
• Act as a liaison between procurement and finance team to drive overall GMI program success. Improve GMI project execution and governance.
• Manage project plans and timelines in support of these initiatives from concept through implementation; Measure project performance and track change orders; Establish and monitor KPIâs and gain consensus on project goals, objectives and deliverables; Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to project team, department and division management.
• Drive process and cost improvements.
• Standardize processes across the organization.
• Recruit, coach and develop talent.

Experience Youâll Bring

Required

• Bachelorsâ Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field
• 5 yearsâ experience of Sourcing, Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain
• 5 years' experience in Project Management
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, ability to align resources, share information and provide clear direction to team members and suppliers.
• Adaptable, resourceful and be able to quickly trouble-shoot problems, mitigate risk and develop innovative solutions to address challenges and changes in project parameters.

PREFERRED:

• Masterâs degree
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Project Management Certification
• Strong financial acumen
• Proven ability to create and maintain a strong cross-functional network,

The base pay for this position is $144,100.00 â $288,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
