Assist victims in obtaining needed understanding of Domestic Violence, court proceedings, and relief through the court systems.  To work independently and coordinate legal advocacy services through civil and criminal justice systems.

To provide education to victims relating to their Domestic Violence issues. To assist victims in preparing the required paperwork for Temporary Protective Orders (TPO). To meet with victims to assist in understanding the process and court proceedings for the TPO. Take appropriate paperwork to the Superior Court Clerk’s Office promptly. To perform appropriate screening and intake information to identify the needs of the victims. To provide follow-up contact with victims as appropriate. To help develop and complete Safety Plans for victims To make appropriate community referrals as needed for identified victims. Participate in planning and presenting training for law enforcement and other community programs. Follow through with TPO’s in Court Attend Bond hearings when assigned To collaborate with the solicitor and district attorney’s offices. To collaborate with local law enforcement to promote the victim's safety. To perform domestic support services with law enforcement when indicated. Provide effective and accurate communications with the magistrate and superior court judges. To provide support to victims in the court proceedings process. To close TPO cases when appropriate and according to agency policies and procedures. Perform appropriate documentation in the victim’s records in a timely and accurate manner according to agency policy and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills required

Excellent communication skills, people skills, organizational skills,  knowledge of domestic violence, and knowing courtroom etiquette. Good Documentation and writing skills

Required Education and or Experience

Bachelor in the Social Services area and a minimum of one year experience in providing some level of social services that may include case management or other related duties.  It is preferred that the individual has experience within the area of Domestic Violence.
