This position serves as Accountant (Systems), supporting, planning, and executing all activities necessary to integrate financial management, procurement, and asset management systems, while achieving systems compliance and business process improvement. The primary function of this position is to design, implement, and test new systems or developing and testing modifications to existing systems.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
Interpreting accounting system policies, standards, and guidelines.
Developing and deploying tailored methodologies that are consistent with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CG standards.
Analyzing system practices and procedures and gathering and documenting system processes and requirements for current and proposed integrated systems including but not limited to finance, travel, procurement, asset management, and human resource systems. Providing input to business cases and cost estimates.
Reviewing and modifying current and proposed system processes to ensure compliance with plans, policies, standards, and guidance.
Coordinating with Program Management Office (PMO) team leads, DHS personnel, CG users, SMEs, contract vendor personnel, and other CG and serviced stakeholders to communicate status and to resolve issues during each phase of assigned tasks or the system development life cycle.
