Director Plant Operations

Job Summary
Responsible for program planning, development and operation of Plant Operations and Engineering for FRMC. The primary focus is to provide leadership and management for creating a reliable life safety and environment of care program. Leadership and expertise in leading and overseeing construction and renovation projects is essential as well. This includes our Main Hospital Campus, Behavioral Health Campus and all of our outpatient sites.
Essential Functions
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in the compliance with allocated funding.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Reviews and advises Administration on construction and structural changes or modifications to buildings.
- Provides liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and material and equipment suppliers. Assumes role of General Contractor when necessary.
- Establishes and administers preventive maintenance program. Analyzes cost and work schedules and sets priorities and expedites operations and repairs.
- Periodically inspects and rounds on buildings and utility systems to determine need for alterations or repairs.
- Approves orders for equipment and supplies as authorized.
- Accompanies appropriate state, federal, and local authorities inspecting buildings or assign those duties when needed.
- Ensures that the department is prepared to achieve all regulatory standards for The Joint Commission, state, etc.

- Maintains hospital and clinic standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience.
- Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of role or practice.
- Maintains compliance with organization's policies, as well as established practices, protocols and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards.
- Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
- Participates in patient rounding and Environment of Care Rounds.
- Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements and the TJC standards and or standards from other accrediting bodies.

Minimum Education
Associate's Degree Required
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Minimum Work Experience
10+ years in Engineering Field
5+ years in Healthcare Management
